Fatigued / Pictures of the New House

Okay all you mothers and moms-to-be. I finally have hit a bump (haha, bump) in my second trimester. I think I was way too happy in my last post about how awesome my second trimester was and the pregnancy gods decided to make my pregnancy more interesting. So, for the past few days I have been absolutely EXHAUSTED. I am getting plenty of sleep during the night and when I come home from work around 5:30, all I want to do is lay down and take a long nap. That's usually what I do because I can't help but zonk out as soon as I lay down. I can usually sleep for a good 1 - 2 hours and still feel tired when I wake up. When it's time for bed, I can easily fall asleep even though I just took a nap a few hours before. When I wake up in the morning after getting 8 or more hours of sleep, I could easily crawl back into bed and sleep for another few hours.

I haven't changed anything - my diet is the same, my work load is the same, everything is the same. My job can be mentally wearing, but not physically. I sit in my office chair and design all day. In fact, I  feel even more tired than when I spent two days in a row packing, moving, unpacking, and organizing - and THAT was exhausting.

I've read pregnancy forums and all that good stuff, but everyone's answers consist of, "oh, it's just because you are pregnant and the baby is sucking the energy away from you. You'll get used to it!" Well, that's great. I don't want to get used to wanting to sleep every second of the day. I want my energy back.

My husband offered to buy me energy drinks because of how boring I've become. As much as I would love to take him up on that offer....I don't think I should....besides, this little baby is already cray cray enough. I can't imagine what an energy drink pumping through her system would cause her to do.

So now I'm turning to all of you who have experienced this in your own pregnancies....what should I do? What helped you feel more energized?

Oh, and to make this post more interesting, here are some pictures of the new house before we moved in! I'll put new ones up once I've actually decorated it / have updated furniture.

The front of the house. I want to get some nice big planters and plant some pretty flowers by the walkway!
The backyard is completely fenced off.

HUGE thanks to Olivia, Garrett and Josh for helping us move. We couldn't have done it without you guys! And a really, really, really big thanks to Olivia for helping get rid of the nasty leftovers. My pregnant stomach just couldn't handle it. :(

I feel very blessed that we were able to find this house. It truly feels like a home and I cannot wait to start our family in it. I feel so blessed to have so many good people in my life and to be blessed with so many awesome experiences. Life is so great!

  2. I had the same problem with exhaustion at about 20 weeks. When I got my blood taken at my doctor's appointment they discovered that I was slightly anemic from the pregnancy so they put me on an iron supplement and it made a huge difference, I got my energy back almost immediately. So I would recommending finding out if that is your problem.

  4. Maybe you are sick or like Jessica said..anemic? I don't think it is normal at your stage to be so tired. I would see your Dr.
Congrats on the house, it looks so nice and how fun to have a home to bring a baby back to! It took us eight years before we got our first home!
