Welcome to the first day of summer! Hopefully you feel a little difference in your life that can come with the changing of seasons. If not, you may be in something called a rut. This can feel like your day to day life is just a long list of things to do, just to be repeated all over again tomorrow.
I've been in one, and I'm sure you have all been in one at some point in your life. You may not even realize until you are in one until.............right..........now.
Don't panic. Let's make this the best summer ever and get out of the old and into something new.
The best way to get out a rut is to change up your daily routine. No, this doesn't mean eat dessert first and veggies last (which I'm not completely opposed to, by the way). Getting out of a rut can be as simple as adding a few things to your routine. (Whether this includes spending 3 hours to find the perfect blog design like me...that's up to you.) Don't fret -- these things can be goals, so you don't have to drastically change your life overnight.
Here are ten goals that my husband and I have created. I hope these can help you to generate some ideas.

Malae's Ten Commandments of How To Make Your Summer Awesome
#1. Work out in the morning.
Our morning workout looks like this:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday is muscle building (arms for him, abs for me)
#2. Stay out of the bedroom when possible. Use it only for sleeping!
#3. Eat less, more often.
We've found that eating three square, healthy meals a day plus healthy snacks in between has been a great way to keep our appetites down.
#4. Turn off electronics one hour before bed and turn on one hour after waking up.
Yes, this includes your cell phone. Break the addiction.
#5. Schedule weekend plans on Monday to give yourself something to look forward to during the week.
We bought season passes to Lagoon with two of our best friends. Can you guess what we get excited about?
#6. Relax during lunch. Get rid of all distractions.
#7. Pick a new scent!
Victoria's Secret has an awesome sale going on right now....wink wink
#8. Pick out outfits the night before to give yourself more time in the mornings.
#9. Get up early* and go to bed early.
This means 6:30am and 10:30pm for us. It was hard at first (especially now that it is summer), but it is so worth it. Oh, and this doesn't usually apply to weekends.
#10. Carry a water bottle with you and fill up twice a day.
You will have to use the bathroom more than you ever had in your life, but dang, will you feel so good about yourself!
*How to be a morning person:
#1. Prepare yourself the night before.
Choose clothes, make lunches, create to do list
#2. Give yourself something to look forward to in the mornings.
New playlist, songs, new workout, great weather, reading the news.
#3. Schedule sleep time.
Give yourself enough time in the morning to get ready, and absolutely NO snooze button!!!
#4. Get yourself outside!!! (This is the most important one in my opinion)
Find a way to expose yourself to the morning air and find that renewal! :)
Hopefully these help you get out of your daily rut! Find a friend to do some goals with. You will be amazed at the difference.
