Day 1-Recent picture of you and 15 interesting facts about yourself

Recent picture of me...I choose this picture because it really shows the length of my hair -- it's finally growing!!!! YAY!!! While I am in florida, I have decided to take a break from things that can hinder the process of growing out my hair, such as getting weaves and daily use of a flat iron. It's not like it is really possible for my hair to stay straight in this humidity anyway.... ;)

Okay...here's 15 interesting (?) facts about myself:

1 - I was diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) my sophomore year of high school. I didn't believe it then, but as soon as I began to take medicine for it, I immediately noticed huge changes and knew that I had it. Those pills became my life and I didn't understand how I was ever able to function before without them. On days that I would forget to take them (forgetfulness is a major symptom of ADHD and ADD...haha), things were pretty bad. I remember finding myself sitting in front of the mirror supposed to be getting ready for school, but I had not done anything for a solid 20 minutes. I had drifted into my own thoughts without realizing it.

2 - I attended SUU (Southern Utah University) my freshman year and received over 30 credits. I was strongly prompted to apply for BYU for my sophomore year, did so, and got accepted. Only one class that I took at SUU transferred to BYU, so I had to start all over, and I am one year behind.

3 - I am intending to major in Advertising - Creative track. This way, I can learn more about graphic design AND advertising, two of which things I love.

4 - My name is Hawaiian, but my mom didn't know it. She thought she "made it up" one day while walking on BYU campus, and then saw my name on a street sign in Hawaii when she was visiting 16 years later.

5 - I have never been diagnosed with it, but I am 100% positive that I have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Order). My kitchen and the contents of my cupboards must be organized a certain way, in a certain order. My halloween votive decorations must be arranged a certain way, with an approximate space between each other and space from the edges of the table. I must wipe three times or I am sure that I will get a disease (I will spare the details). At work, I must have my cash drawer organized that EVERY bill is facing the same way, every receipt, every traveler's check. The list goes on, and I'm sure my poor husband can add to it.

6 - I am super sensitive. If I ever get scolded, reprimanded - even just slightly, it will probably make me cry. If someone looks at me wrong, it will make me very depressed. I am also horrible at reprimanding, and the thought of having to possibly hurt someone's feelings makes me cry.

7 - I feel very accomplished in the work field. I have held the titles of Administrative Assistant, Cash Control Supervisor, Creative Director, Team Lead, and Assistant Manager by age 20.

8 - I would rather play by ear than play by reading musical notes. This applies to piano, drums, and singing. I have learned how to play all the songs I know now by ear.

9 - I am super competitive when it comes to sports. I love them all. I have been involved with softball, soccer, volleyball, and dance throughout my life. Even silly little games like Four Square or Cops and Robbers...I get such an adrenaline rush from playing!

10 - If I don't eat first thing in the morning, I will get extremely nauseous and/or throw up. I'm not sure why.

11 - I work at the largest Disney merchandise store in the whole world!

12 - I love music and I love it to be LOUD. I partially blame my Dad for this...after all, he is an audio engineer and we were forced to listen to everything using the 6.1 surround system. I hate listening to things without some major BASS going on, and I think every song is better when it is loud anyway.

13 - The reason I even started playing the drums is because I couldn't FOR THE LIFE OF ME make a sound out of that gosh darn flute! I signed up for band in 6th grade so I could play the flute, and I struggled for weeks! Finally, after the millionth time meeting with my band instructor, he told me that my lips were formed in such a way that it was preventing me from being able to produce any sounds. Weird, I thought my lips looked normal. Anyway, I decided to play the drums cause I knew for sure that I would be able to make a sound out of those!!!

14 - I love driving stick shifts. I was taught how to drive on my dad's manual truck, and my first car was a manual. There is something about having complete control over your vehicle that is so satisfying to me. I hate driving automatics because it shifts on it's own, and I hate the timing of it. It messes with my rhythm.

15 - I am married to a wonderful man with the last name of Talley. I really like this last name because it is very compatible with my first name. It seems like none of the last names of any of my boyfriends actually sounded good with my first name. Believe me, this stressed me out while I was growing up.

Whew -- that was harder than I thought! Hope you all enjoyed and hope that if you haven't yet, that you also begin the 30 day challenge!
